Heavy Equipment Field Service Diesel Technician / Mechanic

Job Description

Full-Time, Year-Round position with a competitive salary based on experience and knowledge

Responsibilities

  • Complete fleet inspections
  • Move parts to and from the jobsite and remove and install these parts on Equipment
  • Diagnose fleet equipment malfunctions utilizing computer software and computer repair manuals, determine correct procedure for repair, order correct parts, perform the repair, and road test vehicles and/or equipment to ensure repair is complete.
  • Repairs and preventative maintenance on light, medium and heavy-duty equipment
  • Upkeep of the service truck
  • Responsible for the inventory of onboard parts
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Consistent, regular, and reliable attendance including being ready for work at the designated start time and frequent overtime.

Qualifications

  • 5 years of previous heavy equipment or over the road (OTR) repair experience is preferred
  • Excellent mechanical aptitude with a solid understanding of the following systems: Diesel & Gasoline engines, power train, hydraulics and electrical
  • General knowledge of CAT, Volvo, John Deere Heavy Equipment and Mack, Western Star, Peterbilt and Kenworth Trucks preferred
